Know God - Love Others - Serve the World

Sunday morning worship begins at 10:55 a.m.

“Love, Marriage, and Intimacy”

Sermon Series

May 22-June 19

Building relationships isn’t easy; it takes courage, hard work and lots of grace! The First United Methodist Church of Wauchula will explore "Love, Marriage and Intimacy" and what it takes to make relationships last.  This series will explore some areas of Adam Hamilton’s book “Love to Stay.”  We invite all to come out and join us as we learn to be in relationship with God and each other.

At First United Methodist Church of Wauchula our mission is to “Know God, Love Others, and Serve the World”.  The first element to Know God is important in that it is the foundation for our faith.  We believe that in order for us to share love with each other and go out and serve the Kingdom of God, we must first have an intimate relationship with God.  This relationship often begins, and continues to grow through worship.  This time is significantly important in our relationship with God, because it provides us with the opportunity to lift up our praise and thanksgiving to Him.  Worship first and foremost is about God.

Additionally, Worship provides the congregants with the opportunity to interact with His word and to receive His grace through the sacraments of Baptism and Holy Communion.

Out of this desire for our church family and guests to grow in lifting up praise to God and in receiving God’s grace through the worship experience, we offer a blended service.  This provides elements of a traditional liturgical setting as well as elements of a spirit led contemporary setting.  Our hope is that this provides the worshippers to both connect to the service through some elements that they are familiar with, while challenging the congregants with elements that are different from what they are used to in order to encourage growth in their intimate relationship with God.

Our prayer is that in reading this description you may experience the power of the Holy Spirit and join us soon in coming to Know God and in Worshipping Him.

Mision Ebenezer

Wauchula Worship Mision Ebenezer is the newly formed Hispanic Mission along the 17 Corridor. The goal of this mission is to create Methodist small groups, home groups, and worship opportunities along the 17 Corridor for the Hispanic Community. Pastor Carlos Cortes has been appointed to this initiative. In his efforts to share the gospel with the Hispanic community in Wauchula, he will be starting a worship service on November 1. This service will be held in the Fellowship Hall at 2:45 on Sunday afternoons. We welcome our church family to be in attendance during this time of service. Additionally, we thank you all for your prayers over this new ministry, this worship service, and for those individuals whose lives will be transformed through the good news of Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit.
